My career in the non-profit world ended last Friday when my position at school was eliminated in a budget-cutting caper that zapped nearly 1/3 of the staff.
After the initial shock came sadness and then anger. But these feelings didn't last very long and were soon replaced by a totally different response as I became aware of the new opportunities presented by the closing of that door.
I know this is probably not the best time to think about an indie-art/craft business for my work in fiber and fabric but that is what I'm doing with this new-found gift of time.
It feels just right.
I feel content. Energized. Joyful, even.
And looking forward.
