NH Open Doors

Yes, Virginia, it is autumn in V------
New England.

cold and damp and getting ready to rain

me thinks

"It's a marvelous day.....for......"
 just about anything indoors like
a cozy fire and a good book
with a cuppa tea
(think i'll use the last of my mint)

but right now i'm in the studio

where i'm excitedly getting ready for Open Studios on November 7
if you're in the area stop by to us at

Did you ever think . . . . .

Aunt Jane asks her niece:
Did you ever think, child, how much piecin' a quilt's like livin' a life?

Then she explains in plain, heartfelt language about picking out calico "caliker" and patterns.

The Lord sends us pieces ..... (she says)

but we can cut 'em out and put 'em together
pretty much to suit ourselves ..
..

there's a heap more in the cuttin' and the sewin'
than there is in the caliker.

I made this queen-size quilt from thrifted fabric;

Suzanne Cady, friend, machine-quilted it for me
