. . . .of slow cloth

when summer was new ...
i cut a piece of cotton
gathered sewing things in a basket
and set out to make this fabric mine

made millions of tiniest stitches

created
a textural
sensual
surface

and finished stitching tonight

thank you Deb and art4sol. i have experimented with several ideas but haven't settled on one yet. will just let them germinate for a while i think. perhaps a vessel of some kind. i have been inspired by some dowry bags that might just could be the kindling of an idea......it was fun to stitch and now let the cloth tell me what it wants to be.....

It looks beautiful Pat - it'll be interesting to see what you do with it.
Thanks for your encouraging comments on my work.

well. silly me. i was 'anonymous' but i was trying to make a comment back to Linda Stokes about her splendid work. but it looked like .... well. hey. a mis-step of the fingers on the keyboard. or something.

Pat how did you make that? It is very pretty. Then what do you do with it once it is made? Just wait and see what develops?
