You'll Spread Your Wings

I went to the edge of our woods this morning where I made a makeshift studio. No walls to enclose me. Just a soft green bower to shade and encircle me. I brought along: hand-dyed fabric; Jacquard paint; Indonesian print blocks for a studio morning au plein air.

I couldn't resist the some shisu leaves from the container garden on our deck and snipped a few along the way........
The day dawn clear and sunny.
Pretty blue sky.
Moderate temps: mid-70s.
A nice day for doing any old thing outside.

And the living is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich
And your mama's good lookin'
So hush little baby now
don't you cry
One of these mornin's
You're gonna rise up singin'
Then you'll spread your wings
And take to the sky
But til that mornin'
Ain't nothin' can harm you
With your daddy
And your mammy
standin' by."
George Gershwin
Dubose Heyward,
Porgy and Bess

I looked up and there was Larry in the distance.
