Korak on the wall

what i've been doing

my korak collection thus far.
no specific project in mind.
just the pleasure of playing with a new technique.

early this morning i pinned each piece to foam core.
to see what's there   . . . . .
what might be there . . . .
what might emerge . . . .
if anything can be built upon  . . .

 possibilities?

wondering. . .

wondering?

The result reminds me of India (no, I haven't been there yet). I tell you why. There is a tree called bodhi tree, and the dried and quite transparent leaves are seen as a buddhist souvenir because the Buddha became enlightened under a bodhi tree. I got a bodhi leaf as a present once. It is like gauze in a heart shape.
The korak piecing is probably known in India, too, but for sure, there is quilting and kanta stitching. This merges in a lovely way in your project.
